6/14/16

Y'all are gonna have a stroke getting to actually read a post that's current!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow; I just looked at Sonny and said, "what time did we get here yesterday"? After the deer in headlight look that I got, I said "did we just get here today"? He shook his head yes...........I told him that I get so confused, we go too many places too quickly. We are gypsies; water gypsies........maybe we should re-name the boat..............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
We left Deltaville @ 7 am, got here (Chesapeake Boat Basin @ Kilmarnock) @ 10 am. washed boat, cooked, took car into town, ate late lunch, etc. Now that I've written it down, it doesn't look like much; but my body thinks it's a lot!!!
Ate at NN Burger, they have been voted best burger in Virginia 2 yrs. It was good........
We walked around town and visited their shops. Loved, loved "Pearl", cute clothing. Also; "Specials Wine Seller", where we met a nice lady who lived in Nashville. It's a small small world..............

N N Burger Co.............you can build your own!

Bought some very nice wines here!

6/10/16

The ride to Deltaville was a very bumpy one...........even made me a little sick feeling. The wind was blowing from the NE, and
Sonny tried to capture a pic of the waves, but it didn't show the intensity....

Workshop at museum where they build boats. You can actually participate!

The F.D. Crockett

Same; built in 1924

Another view
heading straight into it. Waves were 2-4 ft. The salt on the boat was a huge mess, so Sonny had to wash it again. (He had just washed it on that morning from the ride the day before). Forgot to mention in the last post that the ride to Mathews, Va. was a bumpy ride too with the same conditions. We stopped here because we won a 3 night stay to this marina in 2012 @ the trawlerfest we attended. So free is good. We did choose to stay an extra night because of the weather, trying to avoid those 2-4 ft waves!!!! We have gotten caught up again on chores, they are never-ending. We walked to the Maritime Museum which is next to this property. It was very nice!

6/9/16

Up early to head on up the east coast. Our next destination is Mathews, Va. @ Zimmerman Marine. Our washer/dryer died a few weeks ago, so I got on Amazon (I do this a lot), and ordered a new one and had it shipped here. They were ready for us when we got there so it was all taken care of within a few hours. I'm so glad too; have really missed having that convenience. We left out the next day heading on up the coast to Deltaville, Va. This marina was small, but they do a lot of boat work. We had called a couple other shops but they were all busy busy............
I love, love my new washer!!!!!
This sign speaks for itself; Sonny loved it!

6/2/16 thru 6/6/16

It was a long trip to Ky, but so nice to be with my family. We stayed at Buddy n Courtney's house in Franklin. Drove all day on the 2nd, Then on The 3rd, Courtney n I drove to Bowling Green to see Nicole's new apartment. She works at Chick-Fil-A in Bowling Green and has met some great kids who work there. Four of them decided to move in together, so they found a great house that was just the right size and close to WKU campus. She is so proud of her new home and she should be. Her graduation is on Saturday 4th at Diddle Arena on campus. She is an intelligent young lady and we are all so proud of her. She received a full scholarship to WKU!! Congrats Nicole.....................

We spent two nights with Jack n Sara while home. I love visiting with them......................true friends.

While in Hampton we did very little, mostly getting caught up on boat chores and preparing to leave for Kentucky. Besides cleaning and trying to eat what food we could (then throwing the rest out), it actually means that I got my hair done and a pedicure. These are the most important things. Period. Now back to the fridge, I try not to throw much food away, I hate doing that! But sometimes it happens. We packed and Sonny loaded the car in the rain. Tomorrow we will leave for the 12 hr trip to my daughter and son-in-law's house. We connected (for a couple days), with the friends we have traveled with some and went to dinner @ Marker 20. It was a rainy night (Memorial Day), and we had fun.............
