Today we left around noon and headed to Sugar Bay Cove. We have been here before and like the quiet. Saw my second snake of the trip. Yikes!!!!! If you only knew how petrified I am of them......
Oh well, no way am I getting in this water! We are on anchor and grilling out salmon tonight. My fave! It was only a 14 mile ride to this cove, so we have been relaxing........

Green Turtle Bay 8/26/15
When we arrived last night (25th), Tom and Melissa were waiting on the dock to help us in and tie up. They are both so nice and helpful! Also; Violet works at Dockers, great waitress!!
We went to dinner at the yacht club, it was Mike and Nancy's 25th anniversary! Had a very good dinner, but it was hard to beat the gift he gave her (3 spatulas from Big Lots)..............
The next morning was breakfast at Dockers, laundry, ships store, golf cart to town and riding around the property. It really is very pretty here, and the property is maintained nicely.
Patti's was dinner tonight, love that pork chop! Coconut pie with meringue wasn't too shabby either!
Anyhow, we love it here at GTB and always enjoy our stay.
BTW: did I mention that our Malt/Tzu Marena is a daddy's girl??????

8/24/15 & 8/25/15
Well, got up today and did laundry (great idea), cause Sonny is feeling much better and says we are leaving in the morning! Also; Nancy and I drove to Rock Harbor and picked up an alternator that was ordered for them. Perfect timing!!!
We keep waiting to hear from the spine clinic, but.........so; we are heading on! It's not a big deal, just that it will never be as convenient anywhere else, because we have a vehicle here. But it'll be fine............ Courtney and Buddy will come pick it up and keep it for us! Thx to my kiddos!
It's hard to believe we have been here 11 days. It has passed so fast. We only ate out one time, I've cooked the rest of the meals! Guess that is the reason Nancy and I grocery shopped every other day! Lol. We found a nice lady on Saturday with a vegetable stand setup in front of Big Lots on Riverside Dr. It is just a short walk from marina. Or if you have vehicle access, there is a larger farmers mkt. downtown.
We left at 7:30 (sure was a wonderful ride to GTB), and arrived around 5:00.
Got some great pics of the marina, park and the restaurant Liberty Park Grill, which all of these are very nice.
I wish there were a Starbucks next to the marina......😢

Commodore Yacht Club to Clarksville Marina
8/13-8/18
Phil & Linda Carman are good friends of ours, so stopping to see them was to be part of our journey.
The afternoon went by quickly, and we left for The Brewhouse around 5:00.
We thought it was dinner with them..........But, leave it to Phil; it was a gathering of friends (new and old) to wish us well! He is the best party planner I know.....
We had a great time.
Thanks Phil & Linda!!!!
We were up early again the next morning preparing to leave. It was a nice slow ride to Clarksville Marina, and Mike and Nancy Brown caught up with us along the way. Their boat was at Rock Harbor.
This day was a gorgeous ride too!! We pulled into the marina that afternoon, and ate at The Liberty Park Grill for dinner. They have very good food. It is a short walk up the hill from the marina.
Nancy and I went and ordered take out for us because Sonny couldn't stand. The last couple of days he felt pressure and tingling down his leg, but this afternoon it was full blown!!!!!
I sure can understand what he is going through, Been There-Done That......
We were planning on leaving the next morning for Green Turtle Bay, but that didn't happen. We have friends that are still working and doing The Loop in short segments (Alan & Lisa Borden); and are at GTB on the weekends. Soooooo, after talking to them we decided for me to ride back to Nashville with them on Sunday and get our vehicle. Thank you Alan & Lisa!!!!!!!!!
Sonny has an appointment tonight in Nashville at 6:45 for an MRI. So hopefully we will know soon what is going on. He is on a steroid pak and does feel a little better. Remember The Real McCoy's? (He looked like grandpa every time he got up)! Lol
So our overnight stay has turned into 5 days so far. But it is a great place to be, facilities are great here.
Our good friends Mike & Nancy are hanging in there with us and helping out so much! Thanks guys!!!!!

The Loop Continues
We are resuming our trip as of 8/12/15, leaving Cedar Creek Marina at 7:00 am.
Last October when we returned home with the boat from Holland, Mi. ; we were busy with the holidays and catching up on "home duties".
On December 9th I had my 2nd (and final I hope) back surgery where Dr. Hubbard put in 3 screws.
I had spondylolisthethis. Anyhow, I'm much better.
We moved on the boat 12/31 and for the most part, never left.
The winter was a challenge to say the least. There were days of very low temps and Sonny spent lots of time shoveling snow and ice from the walkways to keep a clear path for all of us who lived at the marina. They were closed for a lot of that time.
In March I began a slow process of sorting out things at the condo for "the great loop giveaway"!
We were very, very fortunate when a super nice lady drove by in the middle of June and inquired about it (we hadn't put it on the market yet); then bought it........
So we had to be out in a month and I had to get busy.
Our four children took the majority of our possessions, some things to friends, then my sweet son-in-law and Goodwill took the remainder!!!! Thanks Buddy!!!!!!!! Lol
Sonny spent all his time cleaning and replacing lots and lots of things on this boat.
We spent time with family and friends but should have spent more.......
The last couple of weeks was very hard, lots of errands and much had to be done at the end.
Eight of our friends were at the dock when we left, one even took her houseboat out and followed us for awhile!
We traveled 60 miles, through one lock, and arrived at Commodore Yacht Club at 2:30.
