10/28/15 thru 10/30/15 Bashi Creek/Mobile Bay

We wanted to leave this morning early, with a group of boats; 12 in all! We were only 2 mi from lock, but they had barge traffic ahead of us, so it was much later. We traveled about 60 mi to Bashi Creek for anchorage. There were 5 boats headed there, but it was a very tight creek. We were unsure of just how to handle it; soooooooooooooo we rafted onto a boat that was nosed into the bank. That's how they always anchor, they said. If it works......................and it did for us!!!!! They were the nicest couple (Bob n Ellen). They even climbed off the bow and went for a hike! We left out at first light and ran 107 mi going thru our last lock at Coffeeville....Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!! I think we have all had enough locks for awhile, We anchored again at Tensas  River. The Princess (60' Hatteras) from CCYC caught up with us, we rafted to them for the night and visited. Left at first light again, cruising to the end of the Tombigbee waterway and entered Mobile Bay. Wow!!!!!!!! What an amazing sight; all the ships, military vessels and plenty of tow boats. Quite a change. 12 more miles we entered into the channel for Dog River Marina. This will be Corkscrews home for a few wks.
