4/25/16

We pulled anchor, and we did it early! Woo-hoo................I do need my beauty sleep, but it doesn't seem to be working anyhow. My face seems to be going through a major change right now and it's driving me crazy! When we get to Myrtle Beach (we'll be there awhile), I'm gonna see a dermatologist.
We are headed to Isle of Hope Marina in Savannah, Ga. I've never been to Savannah so I'm really looking forward to it. Also; we have friends there that we are looking forward to seeing; Brooke n Blake Chambers.                                                                                                                                       I talked to a lady in North Palm Beach and she told me that she hated this part of the trip and actually didn't care if she ever came through the ICW  in Georgia again! I kinda see what she meant now; but you just really have to plan! And Sonny Briley is a planner!! Yippee............                                        It is 53 miles and more of Georgia's shallow water, but we made it fine. We are traveling with 3 other boats. We all arrived safely! Sonny always washes the boat when we dock, gotta get that salt off the boat. I tidy up inside after taking Marena for a walk. She is always ready for a walk, especially after being boat-bound for a couple of days. She is trained on a puppy-pad, so we do not HAVE to take her off to potty. But she sure does love being outside!
Blake n Brooke took us out to dinner that first night (Pearl's Saltwater Grille). Awesome! The next day they took us to their home, loved it! And then downtown to Vic's on the river for a great lunch. The rest of the day was spent doing laundry. At least I'm caught up again.......Our last day here will be running errands, seeing some historical sights and taking Marena for a much needed grooming.
Trivia: When the ships came from Europe (empty) they would line the hull with bricks to use as ballasts. Of course; they unloaded them in these shipping towns. Lots of bricks were accumulated, so they started paving the streets and building fences with them.
pulled this up on our anchor, yikes!
