5/19/16

We returned from Nashville on the 17th, then left on the 19th.................traveling 64 miles to Southport Marina. There were lots of "no wake zones", so it was slow moving a good bit of the time. We left @ 7:15 and arrived at 3:00. We were only going to stay 2 nights and leave on Saturday, but it rained most of the day on Friday, so we stayed another night; toured their downtown on Saturday, then left on Sunday. On Saturday night we walked back to town and ate @ Oliver's for my birthday. I am now 66 and will receive my first SS check..............yippee! Enough about that................
Saw my first alligator too.............
Gondola cars over the water; hope they were empty!!!

Also; at this marina. there is a retired navy meteorologist who boats there and holds daily meetings for travelers. He goes very in-depth on information to help guide you through the ICW. We are using the copies he gave us as we travel north.
