We leave Savannah and travel 53 miles to Beaufort, S.C. What a precious little town. We stayed at the city marina, and were only a block away from the shops and restaurants. A lot of history dwells in this town.
Trivia: Home of Pat Conroy, famous author.....Movies (parts of) filmed there: Prince of Tides, The Big Chill, Forrest Gump.
We took a carriage ride (narrated) through the historical part. There are 80 homes on their historical registry at this time. I found a coffee shop; yippee!!!! The barista made me a great latte and their morning glory muffins were awesome. Our group went out to eat one night at "Plums". We had a great time.............the location of the marina is on their refurbished waterfront.
We traveled through an area on the water where there were hundreds of jellyfish about a foot beneath the surface; what a sight.
