12/1 16 thru 12/6/16

We have a 58 mile trip to our anchorage tonight @ Five Fathom Creek in McClellanville, SC; where the eye of Hurricane Matthew hit land. It took us a couple of times to get anchored in this narrow water. The wind was blowing one direction while the current pushed us another, then factor in a few crab pots.........well it was a little difficult.
The next morning we are headed to Charleston City Marina for a few days. I haven't been to Charleston since the early '80's, so I'm really anxious to see it.
We are not in a slip here, but tied along their Mega Dock. And mega it is....1530' long.We were about halfway down, so we got a lot of steps in. They have a courtesy van that takes us downtown or to a shopping area. While downtown we took a carriage ride through the historical area; lots of history here. Also; walked through their city market, tons of vendors. We ate at 2 great restaurants, Hank's and 82 Queen (best she-crab soup ever). Loved this stop....................
